Backers of a proposal to make a major park at the
Tulsa County farm. can see their dream come true-if

they come up with an estimaled 51,250,000.
That was the reaction of county commissioners to the

An earlier attempt to sell tbe
80 acres below 61st Street failed
twice when no bids were re-celved.
The present tract offerf'd
for sale Is north of 61st Street at
Yale Avenue.
The county farm conslSllI of 480

btlween 51st and 61st Streelll and
Yale and Sheridan Avenues. The
rem.lning 160 acres are immediately
south of the main tract.
Caffey pointf'd out that the 80
acres up for sale bas betn appraised
at $2.800 per acre and
said the I.nd located on 51st

$5.000 ptr .cre later. The law
provides the county' must get 90
per cent of the appraised value of
tbe land.
The commissioner's comments
came after A. G. Chamberlain,
chnlrman of the Chamber parks
