Tunnel walkways under Riverside Drive would link the latter
two with their neighborhoods.
COST OF THE theaters would
range from $25,000 to $30,000 each.
They would seat from 300 to 500
persons on hillsides nestled in natural areas. Seats would be on
grassy levels supported by concrete underpinning.
Shells would be pre-cast concrete, Daniel said.
Security lighting would allow
safe entrance and exit, but stage
lighting would be portable, set up
for the occasion.
Most spectacular of the amphitheaters would be at 18th Street
where the stage would be on a
"fabricated" island. This is in the
sketch shown here.
Daniel believes the seats would
be a popular place from which to
view river traffic and lights.
THE LOW-WATER DAM project for which preliminary planning has been completed by Hudg-
ins, Thompson, Ball & Associates,
would consist of three dams creating a chain of lakes from 96th
Street  near  Jenks  to the Sand
Springs bridge. They would be
deep enough for power boats and
sailing craft.
There would be a system of
parks and parkways on each side
of the 14-mile stretch of riverfront. The largest would be proposed Turkey Mountain Park on
the west side of the river near
71st Street.
The study has been accepted
by TMAPC. Public hearings will
be held later this year at which
time area residents may propose
changes prior to incorporation of
the study into the Metropolitan
Area Master Plan.
