Blasting through rock too tough for a ditching machine, crews laying Service Pipe Line's new 625-mile line rushed the project to completion in record time. The 20-, 22-, and 24-inch diameter line was started in mid-September (year unknown) and completed the latter part of November. It was intended to serve oil producers in the Rocky Mountain area and western Kansas.
