Standing on the muddy banks, teams and wagons await the ferry across the Cimarron River in Oklahoma. Pipe, drilling equipment and supplies were moved by wagon; horseback furnished a little faster means of transportation for human beings. Automobiles and trucks didn't come to this region that supplied much of their fuel until later. Photograph by Clarence Jack of Tulsa.
