Title	Oil wells near Cushing
Subject	Tulsa (Okla.) - History Petroleum.
Description	First production in the Cushing field came from the Wheeler sand and the Layton sand. Later production came from nine sands in all. Reliable statistics show the field had produced 390,919,100 barrels of crude oil up to January 1, 1953. The original Cushing field, part of which is shown above, still makes about 7,000 barrels per day from 1,620 wells.
