Work is under way on pouring the cap for the lone pier on the new 41st Street bridge over I-44. The pier, which has seven columns, has the center portion of its cap complete, while the north section is in forms and the south section is reinforcing rods. The east pier from the old bridge still stands, but it will be demolished in the near future. The two concrete abutment walls also are complete. Photograph taken August10, 1985.
