Construction has begun on widening and redecking the 41st Street bridge over I-44. The project will include adding a lane in each direction and replacing the deteriorated bridge deck. A small portion of the westbound right lane is being removed, and the metal sections of the north bridge railing also have been removed. Traffic is one lane each way on the eastbound lanes. The traffic signals also have been removed, and left turns are prohibited at the frontage roads. Photograph taken July 6, 1984.
