The first traffic switchover is under way at the 21st Street and Mingo Creek bridges on I-44 as shown in this view looking east from 90th East Avenue. Eastbound traffic now is routed across the temporary bridges, which have steel grates for their decks. The Mingo Creek bridge's deck is seen as a white area in the eastbound lane. The old eastbound bridges are closed, but they soon will be reopened for westbound traffic to allow replacement of the westbound bridges. This switch should occur next week.
