The I-44 widening project is complete between the I-244 east interchange and the Mingo Valley Expressway, which includes widening of 129th East Avenue, shown here looking south, and Garnett Road at their respective interchanges with I-44. The Admiral Place and 129th East Avenue interchanges were redesigned by eliminating all ramps at Admiral Place and creating a "diamond" interchange at 129th East Avenue. Previously, access to the east on I-44 was from Admiral Place and access to the west was from 129th East Avenue. This included a cloverleaf ramp for eastbound traffic on Admiral Place wanting to travel east on I-44. The old Admiral Place twin bridges were demolished and replaced with one four-lane bridge.
