The Broken Arrow Expressway bridges over Yale Avenue are scheduled to be redecked in the next two years, which will provide a much smoother driving surface upon completion. The bridge decks are so deteriorated that the westbound bridges have been resurfaced with asphalt to help preserve them until they can be redecked. This view, looking west, shows the eastbound bridge that crosses both 31st Street (foreground-left) and Yale Avenue. Westbound traffic has separate bridges for both streets. At right is a flashing signal that warns motorists of a railroad spur that crosses the expressway. In the background is a billboard advertising the Furr's Cafeteria at Utica Square. This photograph was taken March 10, 1984.
