The widening of 61st Street between Yale Avenue and Sheridan Road has transformed a one-time congested street into a roadway that experiences little congestion. This view, looking east near St. Francis Hospital, shows Hudson Avenue in the foreground and Sheridan Road in the distance. In recent years, a left-turn signal was installed for eastbound traffic at Hudson Avenue. The signal operates at peak hours to assist motorists turning north on Hudson Avenue, including morning traffic to Memorial High School. This photograph was taken November 1987.
