Sixty-First Street has opened to four lanes between St. Francis Hospital and Sheridan Road, which has considerably improved traffic flow on the street. The sidewalk on the south side of the street has been poured, and the north sidewalk should be poured within the next few weeks. Permanent traffic signal poles are in place at 61st Street and Hudson Avenue. In the distance, the eastbound roadbed of 61st Street east of Sheridan Road has been leveled and soon should be paved. This photograph was taken January 28, 1984.
