The eastbound lanes of 61st Street have been torn out at Yale Avenue, and traffic now is on temporary pavement on the westbound lanes. Dirt work is under way on the eastbound lanes, with the construction extending west to Sandusky Avenue. A temporary traffic signal has been installed at the Yale Avenue intersection and includes left-turn signals for Yale Avenue. The original traffic signal poles (including the signal attached to the pole and the streetlight) remain on the intersection's northern corners, but they soon will be removed. This photograph was taken August 27, 1983.
