Work is progressing on raising the roadbed and building retaining walls along 61st Street between Marion Court and Pittsburgh Avenue. The concrete retaining wall can be seen on the north side of 61st Street, and the south retaining wall soon will rise above street level. The street originally was slightly below the split-rail fence, which can be seen on the right. This photograph was taken October 7, 1989.
