Several large oak trees are being removed on the west side of Harvard Avenue to allow installation of new utility lines at the 81st Street and Harvard Avenue intersection. The utility poles are being installed, and wires soon will follow. Utility poles also are being installed on the south side of 81st Street, and it appears that a small section of 81st Street will be widened to the west of Harvard Avenue. East of Harvard Avenue, the utility line returns to the present alignment before the hill, so the hill excavation will not be part of this project. This photograph was taken August 18, 1986.
