Trees have been removed on the north side of 81st Street west of Harvard Avenue, which has opened a long-range view through the intersection. The tree on the southeast corner also has been removed, which leaves the tree on the southwest corner and some trees on the northeast corner to be removed for the widening project. Storm sewer work also is beginning on 81st Street as evidenced by the pipes on the south side of the street. In the background is the 81st Street and Delaware Avenue intersection. In the distance (cleared area), the U.S. 75 bridge over 81st Street can be seen, with U.S. 75 being a straight line to the right of the bridge. This photograph was taken December 5, 1986.
