The Broken Arrow Expressway bridge project at Harvard Avenue is complete, and traffic jams, nicknamedthe ""Harvard Narrows,"" have become history. The project originally was expected to take a year and was finished seven months early. Like their predecessors, the new bridges have three lanes, but shoulders also have been included, and the new decks are free of deteriorated sections. This view is looking east on the westbound bridge. The difference in color indicates the deck's sections that were poured at different times (the outer portion was poured first and used while the inside portion was built). This photograph was taken October 16, 1987.
