Construction is complete on Harvard Avenue between Apache Street and the Gilcrease Expressway, and the new roadway is much improved over its predecessor. The new street has four concrete lanes and an alternating left-turn median. The Apache Street intersection proper was rebuilt, and right-turn lanes were added for southbound and westbound traffic. Left-turn signals were installed for the first time, as the previous design included left-turn lanes for all but southbound traffic and no left-turn signals. The closed left-turn lane in the foreground will be used to access the eastbound lanes of the Gilcrease Expressway, which should open in the fall of 1988. Photograph taken December 11, 1987.
