Seventy First Street has been widened to six lanes between the Arkansas River and Lewis Avenue, and Riverside Drive has been extended to 81st Street, both of which have improved traffic access to the 71st Street Arkansas River bridge. This view shows the bridge and 71st Street looking east from a hill west of the river on 71st Street's actual alignment. The street west of the river is slightly north of the alignment east of the river. In the background, 71st Street narrows to two lanes east of Lewis Avenue. This section will be improved later in the 1990s. Photograph taken May 26, 1991.
