The low water crossing on 81st Street has vanished into history, and all that remains is a pile of rubble at the east end (left). The new bridge's north retaining wall foundation is in the foreground, and work is under way on building the south retaining wall. Water in Fred Creek, which is low, is being pumped through pipes around the bridge site. Photograph taken July 9, 1987.
