This view shows the new section of 21st Street looking west from 99th East Avenue, which is the project's east end. The roadway was widened to its new width through the I-44 interchange without rebuilding the bridges. The street's sidewalks were built behind the bridge piers and feature retaining walls and railings. Traffic normally is heavy along the street, but Sunday mornings can be a different story. Photograph taken June 8, 1986.
