The 101st Street and Memorial Drive intersection will be improved as part of the Memorial Drive widening project between 91st and 111th streets. According to reports, the intersection has had several major accidents, and, in 1983, the city installed a flashing signal to warn motorists of the dangerous intersection. A traffic signal likely will be installed upon completion of the widening project. This view, which is looking south from near 100th Street, also shows that utility poles have been relocated for the new roadway. Photograph taken April 15, 1984.
