The final lane on the eastbound I-44 Arkansas River bridge should open soon. Some final approach work must be completed before the final lane opens. However, some progress has been made at the site as workers recently removed the concrete barrier wall from the westbound bridge, which opened it to three lanes of traffic. The overhead sign has been installed on the pier and will advise motorists of the "Exit Only" lane for Riverside Drive. The "Exit Only" sign is covered until the remaining lane opens to traffic, as this lane presently is used for through traffic on I-44. Photograph taken January 28, 1984.
