The 51st Street approaches, which originally were widened in 1980 as part of the 1977 bond issue-funded 51st Street widening project between Memorial Drive and Marion Avenue, were rebuilt and widened as part of the Yale project. This view, looking east, shows that the west approach now has a dual left-turn lane and a right-turn lane. The 1980 version had four lanes and a single left-turn lane. Photograph taken May 18, 1993.
