71st Street appears to be a quiet country road on Christmas Day 1988, as only a few cars are seen on the normally overcrowded street. This view looks west from 73rd East Avenue toward Sheridan Road (background). Since the street is two lanes either side of the Sheridan Road intersection (which has six lanes for 71st Street), one can note the intersection's traffic patterns by observing the concrete (the darker lanes carry most of the traffic). Photograph taken December 25, 1988.
