Traffic flow on 71st Street has improved in recent weeks following the installation of a left-turn lane between Yale Avenue and Sheridan Road. The project, which was funded through the 1991 sales tax extension, widened the street by adding a half lane on both the north and south sides of the street and resurfacing/restriping the street to provide two lanes and a left-turn lane. Traffic flow is much improved following this project. This project will help traffic flow until funding is available to widen the street to six lanes. Photograph taken February 9, 1992.
