Traffic at 71st Street and Lewis Avenue has taken a turn for the worse, as traffic is one lane each direction, and left turns are banned at the intersection. A large hole has been dug in the center of the intersection to build a storm sewer collection box, which will take several weeks to complete. Temporary traffic signals have been installed at the intersection. A bright spot is that left-turn signals are in place, but out of use, for Lewis Avenue. This likely means that left turns will be restored on Lewis Avenue in the near future.
