Pine Street and Lewis Avenue was reconstructed in 2003, which involved rebuilding the intersection with concrete, including new curbs and sidewalks, and then applying an asphalt overlay. The old intersection had become rough in recent years, which necessitated the reconstruction. The four left-turn medians also were removed, and new traffic signals were installed. Several businesses have changed at the intersection, as EZ Pawn now occupies the former Pay 'N Pack store, and Walgreens now is located in place of an old building on the southwest corner. The old building's removal now allows for a view of the Springdale Shopping Center on the northwest corner. Photo taken August 2003.
