The Pine Street and Harvard Avenue intersection received a facelift as part of the Harvard Avenue reconstruction project between Pine and Apache streets. The intersection and its Harvard Avenue approaches were repaved with concrete and had the left-turn medians removed, while the Pine Street approaches were resurfaced and had the left-turn medians removed. The Pine Street lanes also were widened, which eliminated the eastbound right-turn lane. A new traffic signal also was installed. The project, which was funded by the 1991 sales tax, began in 1995 and was completed in 1997.
