Construction was completed in October 2011 on a project to widen and reconstruct Lewis Avenue between 61st and 71st streets. This view, looking north from 71st Street, shows the new five-lane street, which is asphalt with a concrete curb/gutter. The old road was a four-lane street with open ditches. The new roadway should improve traffic flow and drainage in the area. The project was funded by the 2001 and 2006 sales taxes. Photo taken November 11, 2011.
