Traffic flow is much improved on I-44 near the 41st Street bridge following completion of a project that widened the interstate in this area. This view, looking northeast from 41st Street, shows the new roadway with the Broken Arrow Expressway in the distance. The fourth westbound lane at far left becomes an exit-only lane for the new 41st Street exit ramp, which was relocated to connect to 41st Street at Hudson Avenue. The old ramp was in the grassy area at left. The eastbound I-44 entrance ramp from 41st Street forms a fourth eastbound lane that continues east to the Broken Arrow Expressway and becomes an "exit-only" lane there. Construction on this section began in 2010 and was completed in 2011. The completion of this section makes I-44 six or more lanes between the I-244 east interchange and Columbia Avenue (east of Lewis Avenue). Photo taken November 11, 2011.
