The Admiral Place and Memorial Drive intersection is located on top of a large hill and offers a great view to the east. The intersection, which is one of Memorial Drive's older intersections and does not have left-turn medians on Admiral Place, is four lanes with a left-turn lane on each approach. In the future, the remaining green poles likely will be replaced with galvanized poles. The eastbound set of signals was replaced in 1984, three years after the left-turn signals were converted and right-turn arrows deleted. In the background is I-244. Photo taken July 1984.
