The 41st Street and Yale Avenue intersection received some minor improvements in 1986 as part of the Tulsa Promenade project, but a major traffic signal conversion did not occur until 1991. The mall project included addning a northbound right-turn lane at 41st Street and Yale Aevnue and installing a new set of eastbound traffic signals. This was followed with resurfacing the intersection and reconstructing the westbound left-turn median in 1987. In 1988, Yale Avenue between 31st and 41st streets and 41st Street between Yale Avenue and I-44 were resurfaced, followed by a 1991 resurfacing of Yale Avenue between 41st Street and I-44, at which time the remaining traffic signals were installed, including right-turn arrows for northbound traffic. Traffic flow has responded well to the improvements. Photo taken July 1994.
