Traffic flow improved at 41st Street and Sheridan Road following installation of a new traffic signal system in October 1983. The system contains the yield left-turn signal, right-turn arrows for 41st Street, even though westbound traffic does not have a right-turn lane, and pedestrian lights (the old system did not have any form of pedestrian signal). The intersection also has been resurfaced, which has made for a smoother ride. To the south, Sheridan Road has been rebuilt and is a much smoother street than it was in 1982. In the background, Wolfe Nursery is on the west side of Sheridan Road, with I-44 in the distance. In the far distance on Sheridan Road (note the white span just below the I-44 bridge) is a pedestrian overpass on Sheridan Road. Photo taken January 1987.
