Traffic flow has improved considerably at 21st Street and Memorial Drive following intersection improvements that were made in conjunction with the 21st Street widening project between Memorial Drive and 99th East Avenue. The intersection received right-turn lanes for all but northbound traffic (even though right-turn arrows were installed), and the east approach was rebuilt as part of the project, which included extending the westbound left-turn lane to accommodate more vehicles at a given time. The southbound left-turn lane also was slightly revised. The project was completed in 1985, and traffic flows well at the intersection. Photo taken June 1986.
