Traffic signals were converted at 21st Street and Lewis Avenue in the 1990s , but the process was done piece-by-piece over a two-year period. The eastbound signals were installed in 1993, followed by the northbound signals in 1994 and the remaining directions in 1995. In addition, Lewis Avenue was resurfaced through the area in 1991. No other imrovements are planned at this time. In the background, the school-crossing signal at Barnard Elementary School has been replaced with a new system. Photo taken May 1995.
