The 15th Street and Peoria Avenue intersection is four lanes on each approach and has no-left-turn signs that are open during most of the daytime hours to help prevent congestion and improve safety. In later years, the southbound no-left-turn sign became a 24-hour sign, while the northbound sign was removed. There are no plans to improve the intersection, which has businesses on three corners and Lincoln Elementary School on the southeast corner. Fifteenth Street also is known as Cherry Street between Peoria and Utica avenues, and many restaurants and other unique businesses are located in this section. Prior to the opening of the Broken Arrow Expressway in 1981, U.S. 64 and S.H. 51 traveled 15th Street through this intersection. Photo taken February 1989.
