              Eleventh Street and Harvard Avenue was a major traffic bottleneck until November 1980, at which time a widening project improved traffic flow. The old intersection had a left-turn signal for northbound traffic, peak-hour no-left-turn signs on 11th Street and 24-hour no-left-turn signs for soutbound traffic. A 1977 bond issue project provided funds to widen the intersection for left-turn lanes for the remaining three directions. The project began in the summer of 1980 and was completed in November 1980. This intersection has the honor of being the first intersection to receive the yield left-turn signals. Following installation of the signal at this intersection, a project began to eventually install the signal at all major Tulsa intersections. Photo taken May 1986.
