              Traveling through 21st Street and Lewis Avenue became easier following completion of the Broken Arrow Expressway in 1981, as traffic wasn't as heavy on 21st Street. Prior to the expressway's completion, there was a pretty good stream of westbound traffic in the mornings and eastbound traffic in the afternoons, as many motorists traveled 21st Street to avoid the congestion on 13th and 15th streets. The intersection is four lanes on each approach with left-turn lanes, and right-turn lanes are in place for eastbound and northbound traffic. The office building on the northeast corner recently was renovated and now is part of Bank of Oklahoma. On the southwest corner is Monte Casino School, while Mazzio's Pizza is on the northwest corner. Photo taken May 1986.
