Traffic at 21st Street and Peoria Avenue took a turn for the better in the fall of 1985 following completion of the 21st Street bridge over the Arkansas River. That project, combined with lower traffic counts resulting from the opening of the Broken Arrow Expressway into downtown Tulsa, allowed the city to remove the no-left-turn signs and the southbound left-turn signal. As a result, left turns are permitted on all four approaches. A traffic signal at 18th Street and Peoria Avenue also was removed, and traffic seems to be adjusting well to the improvements.
