In 1986, new traffic signal poles and signals were installed on Memorial Drive at 15th Street, which eliminated two green poles at the intersection. The traffic signal configuration remained unchanged until the five-head "doghouse" left-turn signal was installed in the 2000s. The green poles remain on 15th Street, including right-turn arrows for eastbound traffic, as the right lane becomes a right-turn lane due to the street being two lanes east of Memorial Drive.
