Turning left on Memorial Drive at 15th Street was a challenging task until a new traffic signal system, that included left-turn signals for MEmorial Drive and right-turn arrows for 15th Street, was installed in 1978. Prior to the installation, there was a regular traffic signal (two signals each direction without left-turn signals) and left-turn lanes. The present configuration makes left turns much safer at the intersection. Photo taken July 1982.
