A drive through the 11th Street and Yale Avenue intersection is much smoother following a 1993 project that resurfaced the intersection and approaches, including rebuilding some curbs and sidewalks. The project, which was funded by the 1991 sales tax, also included removing the four left-turn medians and replacing them with an area bordered by a double yellow line, removing the pedestrian underpass on 11th Street just east of Yale Avenue and installing a new traffic signal. The new signal has two lights for each direction instead of three, and the yield left-turn signal system remains in use. The resurfacing project also included Yale Avenue between 11th and 15th streets and 11th Street between Yale and Harvard avenues, including the Harvard intersection. Photo taken July 1994.
