The 11th Street and Yale Avenue intersection is one of Tulsa's older intersections. The intersection is located along the former U.S. 66 route through Tulsa and has four lanes on each approach with left-turn lanes. Mark and Mary's Cafe is located on the southwest corner, while a school occupies the southeast corner. Just east of the intersection is a pedestrian tunnel under 11th Street, which has access points on either side of the street. To prevent one from falling into the tunnel, the tunnel's non access sides are surrounded by white poles with chain-link fence. The intersection also is the only known intersection to have street signs on the green mast arms. Street signs are common on the galvanized signal mast arms, but this is the only known location with green signal poles that has signs on the mast arms. Photo taken June 1987.
