The 11th Street and Sheridan Road intersection received a facelift during a rehabilitation project in 2010-2011. The project involved removing the old driving surface, making subsurface repairs, resurfacing the street and installing new sidewalks and driveway aprons, along with curbs in some areas. The left-turn medians also were removed and replaced with yellow stripes, and new traffic signals were installed. The new traffic signal installation eliminates the green poles and four-head left-turn signal at another intersection in Tulsa, with only three major intersections still containing that signal configuration (as of this writing). The new signal includes right-turn arrows for the eastbound right-turn lane. The lane had been without arrows since the right-turn arrows were deleted on the old system in 1981.
