The Third Street and Lewis Avenue intersection is Tulsa's last intersection with green poles to still have the "restricted" left-turn signal. The intersection has four lanes with left-turn lanes on each approach (no left-turn signals on Third Street) and right-turn lanes on Third Street. The signal is synchronized with those at First Street and Admiral Place/Boulevard (background) to keep traffic flowing smoothly through the area. On a side note, the left-turn signal wasn't around much longer after this picture was taken. In early 1987, the city of Tulsa eliminated the left-turn signals and replaced them with regular lights. The right-turn arrows also were deleted. At right is an Otasco store, a business that existed in Tulsa for many years. Photograph taken October17, 1986.
