During the 1980s, traffic signal conversions were occurring all over Tulsa, including eliminating straight-right green arrow configurations, right-turn arrows where there were no right-turn lanes and the left-turn signal from "restricted" to "yield" at most intersections. The final few intersections to undergo the right-turn arrow/left-turn signal conversion also received new poles, mast arms, signals and pedestrian lights, including the 15th Street and Lewis Avenue intersection, which underwent its conversion in 1985. This view, looking north, shows the old traffic signals with single construction markers indicating the locations for the new signal poles. Impressions Restaurant (the building with the solar panels) can be seen on the northeast corner, while Massad's and the former Apollo Delman Theater (barely visible) are seen on the northwest corner. A Safeway store is on the southwest corner. In the background is the Broken Arrow Expressway bridge over Lewis Avenue. Photograph taken February 1985.
