A new span has been installed on the Boston Avenue bridge over the Burlington Northern Railroad. This span is in the center of the bridge and will be much narrower than the original span. Work is under way on converting the bridge into a pedestrian bridge, and this span bridges the gap created when the damaged span was demolished in June. The pole in the foreground once held a parking meter. The gap in the bridge railing is where a building once abutted the street, as the same situation exists on the west side of the bridge.
