Traffic flow has improved at 81st Street and Mingo Road following an interim widening project and traffic signal installtion. The 1991 sales tax project incolved widening the intersection for a left-turn lane and a straight lane each direction and installing a traffic signal to replace the four-way stop sign. The project was built in 1992. The Mingo Valley Expressway, which can be seen in the background (bridge), has been built through the area and is adjacent to Tulsa Junior College's Southeast Campus. The interim work will help traffic until a major widening project is completed at the intersection. No funds are available for the project. Photograph taken May 1993.
