Eastbound traffic backs up on 61st Street between Sheridan and Mingo roads, which creates a long crawl for motorists traveling to east Tulsa and Broken Arrow. Sandwiched in the congestion is the Memorial Drive intersection, which is four lanes, but only for a short distance either direction on 61st Street. There is a traffic signal at 76th East Avenue. This signal replaced an earlier signal that had been at 75th East Avenue. This section of 61st Street is not funded, so it likely will be several years before any improvements are made.
